Class 10th Results:

Generally the results are announced after the Class XII Exam Results. This year we are expecting the them between 28-29 May, 2010.
Remember there is only ONE website to check the exam results i.e. www.cbseresults.nic.in
Starting from this year, Class X students will be awarded GRADES from A1 TO E2. For instance, all students scoring in the range of 91% to 100% will get an AI grade while those with an aggregate between 81% and 90% will get an A2. So don’t get surprised with this twist if you are not already informed by your teachers. For more about grading system please visit http://grading.icbse.com
Students can get their results through SMS by typing “cbse10 roll number” and sending to 52001 (MTNL), 57766 (BSNL), 5800002 (Aircel), 55456068 (Idea), 582821 and 54321 (Tata Indicom), 54321202 (Airtel) and 56506(Reliance).
According to the new rules, there will be no class 10 board exams in CBSE schools from 2011 and class 10 students who gave board exams in March this year will get grades and not marks.
Students will get grade points (GP) and a cumulative grade point average (CGPA). For every subject, the students will obtain a corresponding grade on the basis of which they will receive a cumulative grade point average.
For those who do want to know their marks, iCBSE has created a online percentage calculator at http://www.icbse.com/cgpa/. It gives an indicative equivalence of the percentage of marks as against the scored GP. CGPA is the average of GPs obtained in all subjects, excluding the additional sixth subject.
CGPA will help the schools allocate different streams to students in Class XI. The system of grading will not be fair to students who score high marks, CGPA will come handy there.Students can check their percentage using the iCBSE Percentage Calculator.
The pre-result anxiety has gone and the pressure from parents and peers has waned off as there will be no toppers from this year.
Those securing an A+ Grade or think that their score has a story behind it can write to admin@icbse.com with name, roll number, contact and a photograph.
Important:
How it Works:
  • Grades on a 9-point scale
  • Range from A1 (excellent) to E2 (dissatisfactory)
  • D is the minimum pass grade A1 – above 91 score; B1 – 81 to 90; D – 33 to 40; E1 and E2 – below 33
  • Grades also carry equivalent points – 10 for A1 to 4 for D
  • Exact marks not to be revealed, but these points can be multiplied with 9.5 to get the average marks represented by grades
  • A1 will be equal to 95; A2 – 85.5; B1 – 76, B2 – 66.5; C1 – 57; C2 – 47.5
  • D will be equal to 38

Preview: Match 67 – KXIP v DC

What
Kings XI Punjab couldn’t have timed their four-match winning streak any better. Just when the doors to the playoffs were about to be shut on them, they got out of a five-match slump and are now serious contenders for a top four spot.
Deccan Chargers have managed only five wins from their 13 matches and will be playing for pride. The team will be without the services of their captain Kumar Sangakkara (who has joined the Sri Lankan team for their series in England).
When
Saturday, May 21, 2011, 4:00 p.m.
Where
Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala
The Protagonists
As has been the case all season, for Kings XI Punjab to compete, they need their top-order to fire – just like they did in their previous match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Skipper Adam Gilchrist came good in the previous outing, slamming a 53-ball century against RCB, and he will be hoping to carry the same form into this crucial tie. Paul Valthaty, whose form had slumped in the middle part of the tournament, is also back to his run-scoring ways. Shaun Marsh – the Orange Cap-holder – has been a consistent performer for his team.
It would be fair to say the Deccan Chargers find themselves at No. 8 on the points table mainly because the batting unit hasn’t fired. Despite having players like Sangakkara, JP Duminy, Shikhar Dhawan and Cameron White, the team has failed to click as a batting unit. The overseas batsmen have especially been disappointing; Duminy has only one half-century in nine innings, Daniel Christian has only managed 190 runs in 13 innings, while Cameron White has a highest score of 31* in five innings.
Ishant Sharma and Dale Steyn form the best new-ball pair, and in Amit Mishra and Pragyan Ojha Deccan Chargers have perhaps the best spin bowling combination among all the teams. If only all the individuals could fire together, DC would be a far more dangerous team than they’ve been all season.
Previous Meetings
It was one-way traffic in meetings between the Kings XI Punjab and Deccan Chargers in the first two seasons; KXIP won all four of their matches against DC in the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
DC won both their fixtures in the 2010 season – winning their home fixture by six runs, and chasing down 175 in their away fixture at Dharamsala. KXIP made it 5-2 in the first meeting between these teams earlier this season when they thrashed DC by eight wickets in their chase of 166, getting past the finish line with 14 balls to spare.
Trivia
Adam Gilchrist became the fourth batsman in the world to score three hundreds in Twenty20 cricket when he scored a ton against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The others to do so are Ian Harvey, Brendon McCullum and Chris Gayle.
Kings XI Punjab’s 111-run victory in the previous match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore was the second-biggest win in the history of IPL.
Dharamsala has produced high-scoring contests in all four matches it has staged. First innings totals in the four matches played there have been: 174 for three, 192 for three, 170 for six and 232 for two.
What next?
This will be the final league fixture of the season for both KXIP and DC. While this fixture will mean the end of the road for DC, KXIP, should they win, will keep a close eye on other results to see if they can progress to the playoffs.

20 overs Deccan Chargers 198 for 2 (Dhawan 95, Ravi Teja 60) v Kings XI Punjab

The happily-ever-after ending that Kings XI Punjab were expecting was slipping through their fingers, literally, in Dharamsala. Their rise from the dead has been the story of the IPL so far, but they crumbled in the field in a must-win game, leaving their batsmen with the difficult task of having to chase 199 to keep their hopes alive. It was dropped catches galore, interspersed with misfields and missed run-outs, that let the Deccan Chargers openers, Shikhar Dhawan and D Ravi Teja, deliver just the kind of partnership that would lift the spirits of a struggling team in its final game this season.
The first over set the tone for the day. There was encouragement for Praveen Kumar from the track, with the ball moving both ways, but there wasn't much the bowlers could do to pick wickets when not backed up by their fielders. Ryan McLaren missed an attempt to run out Shikhar Dhawan first ball and Ravi Teja was dropped by Paul Valthaty in the deep off a wild heave moments later. Both chances were difficult, yet manageable, and could prove decisive in the outcome.
The opening bowlers, Praveen and Ryan Harris, erred in line, particularly against Dhawan, who comfortably picked them off through square leg and fine leg for boundaries. While Dhawan looked determined to bat through, it was Ravi Teja's responsibility to maintain the high tempo that was set early. Dhawan focused on the gaps, with timing and power enabling him to pierce them with ease, while Ravi Teja went over the top, accomplishing the task he was sent out for, albeit with much fortune.
Streaky as he was, Ravi Teja sent Punjab's frustration levels soaring. He survived a run-out in the 11th over, and edged the next two balls of McLaren to the third-man boundary. He was dropped by Harris the next over, and proceeded to launch Piyush Chawla for two massive sixes in an over that yielded 20 runs. By the time he was finally caught, he had smashed 60 when he should have been dismissed for a duck.
Having fed on tripe bowled on the pads, Dhawan drove Harris twice for boundaries through the off, then ceded floor to Ravi Teja and took the lead once again following his dismissal. His intentions were clear right after the second time-out, as he slog-swept Piyush Chawla and Bhargav Bhatt, and scarred Harris further in his return spell with consecutive fours, including one that almost decapitated the man at the non-striker's end, Cameron White. His first six, predictably in the slog overs, was over cow-corner but he was unfortunate to miss out on three figures, not being able to farm much of the strike from then on.

Toss report: Match 67 - KXIP vs DC

Dharamsala, May 21: Adam Gilchrist won the toss and elected to field first at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamasala.
Deccan Chargers have made a couple of changes and so have KXIP, who are eyeing a slot in the Playoffs. KXIP have brought in Bhargav Bhatt and Ryan McLaren. DC skipper Kumar Sangakkara has departed for national duty while Ishant Sharma sits out.
Captain speak:
Adam Gilchrist (KXIP):
On winning the toss and choosing to bowl first: We are going to focus on winning and tactically that’s a right move for today.
On his match winning knock in the previous game: It was a great moment for us. The win kept us alive in the tournament. Nothing much changes today. We have got to produce that [performance] again today.
On the three days off being a help or hindrance: Three days [of rest] was perfect. We have had a really hectic schedule till that point. It was just enough time to relax freshen up and focus on this match.
On the pitch: It's not the one we played the last two games on. There's grass there, but it's brown sandy coloured grass as opposed to the green of the other wicket. Looks like a really nice wicket.
Cameroon White (DC):
On losing the toss: I think the pitch will stay the same and play well.
On the frustrating season: It's been the story of our season. Really up and down and inconsistent. It's a chance for us to combine our skills and we hope to hope to do that.
On the wicket: The pitch has been really nice. Obviously this one here looks good. Hopefully today is the day.
On captaincy: It's a good opportunity for me.
